Department of Mathematics<\/h2><\/header>[vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2011 with a mission to offer Post Graduate in Mathematics. The Department has been offering a full time 2 year M.Sc. program in Mathematics since its inception. B.Sc. in Mathematics has been introduced from the academic year 2016-17.<\/p>\n

The chief\u00a0focus of the discipline lies\u00a0in creating a highly motivated centre for\u00a0Mathematics teaching\u00a0and an environment for research. The discipline of Mathematics has well qualified faculty members committed to active research and teaching.\u00a0Holistic approach encompassing Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics is reflected in our curriculum as well as in our research efforts through project work. There is an imperative balance between Algebra, Mathematical Analysis, Computational Programming language, and Applications of Mathematics. Our syllabus is as per UGC guidelines, compatible with UGC-CSIR NET, within the frame\u00a0work of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).<\/p>\n

Specially designed courses offered by the department have been streamlined to make the students competitive and provide them opportunity to get equipped with the skills of their interest. A subject on problem solving through Mathematical Practical\u2019s is meant to train the students for their problem solving abilities which is also an essential tool in research in mathematics; and also this course helps a student for clearing NET\/SLET and other technical examinations. To facilitate skill building, Seminars and Workshops with Hands-on experience are conducted to help make learning easier and interactive. Apart from the professional commitments within the\u00a0institute, the faculty members contribute to the wholesome development of the\u00a0subject by\u00a0engaging in various outreach activities. The department also has externally funded research project granted by GUJCOST funding agency. Air-conditioned classrooms with adequate infrastructure facilities are conducive to the students to pursue their academic endeavors in an excellent manner.<\/p>\n

About Mathematics Laboratories<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mathematics laboratory caters to the computing needs of Post graduate and Under-graduate students. The computing facilities include fully wired computer LAN with internet over 100 PCs equipped with software.<\/p>\n
